Culturally sensitive and diversity advice and information from the Central Hospice Contact Point
The Central Hospice Information Center offers advice on end-of-life care and support, as well as bereavement. With sufficient notice, counseling is available in selected languages, possibly with the assistance of interpreters. The following languages are currently spoken by the team: Arabic, English, French, and Swedish.
The guide "When healing is no longer possible for you..." is currently available in Arabic, English, French, Polish, Russian, Turkish and Vietnamese.
The brochure " Accompanying the End of Life. A Guide for Caregiving Relatives" is also available in several languages.
A checklist in seven languages (English, French, Polish, Russian, Vietnamese, Arabic and Turkish) provides patients and relatives with guidance on important aspects of end-of-life care, such as dealing with bad news, symptom control, accepting help, religious needs (e.g., special dietary rules such as halal/kosher), and the importance of advance directives and powers of attorney.
